Doug "Cosmo" Clifford

In a career reminiscent of Ringo Starr and Charlie Watts, Doug “Cosmo” Clifford began at a young age making music with his friends and then lightning struck. Along with John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty and Stu Cook, Cosmo was part of the groundbreaking sixties group Creedence Clearwater Revival. This collaboration spawned the unique genre referred to as Country Rock or Swamp Rock and led to the band’s early induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 1993.

Like Ringo and Charlie, Cosmo is known for playing the right part, at the right time, on the right song. Whether it’s the hypnotic ride cymbal bell on Suzy Q or the explosive triplet fills on Traveling Band, the resulting feel and musicality are timeless. Of course, this is evidenced by the millions of albums and singles sold, and the endless airplay that CCR’s music still enjoys worldwide more than forty years after it was created.

Today Cosmo continues to tour playing this enduring music to enthusiastic and loyal audiences across the country.
