Ian Paice

With heavy metal pioneers Deep Purple, Ian Paice helped create a prototype for heavy rock drumming that continues to be emulated by drummers across a variety of musical genres to this day.

He began his career with his father’s dance band and went on to become a founding member of Deep Purple, playing continuously with the group from 1968 to the present day with the exception of one 8-year period during which the group had disbanded. During that period he remained active, playing with Paice Ashton Lord, Whitesnake, and the Gary Moore Band.

In addition to his work with Deep Purple, Ian has been in demand throughout his career and has collaborated with the likes of Jeff Beck, Steve Winwood, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, David Gilmour, Johnny Winter, Robert Plant, Brian May, John Paul Jones, Alice Cooper and more.

Today Ian Paice continues to play, record and tour with Deep Purple who have recently released their 19th album entitled "Now What?!".
